As For Her Dignity Celebrates International Women's Day 2019, we are ecstatic as our Community Women Focus Groups are launched. Our Team has worked hard to prepare and our first efforts were well received.

”Dignity For Women” Community Approach: 

Displaced women and girls in refugee or low-income settings often live in over-crowded environments and lack access to the most basic levels of privacy. Such contexts can make routine menstrual hygiene management (MHM) or light bladder leakage (LBL) extremely challenging. 

A Community Education and Service approach provides incredible access tools to have impact and see transformation amongst the most vulnerable women.

This approach allows us to intensely focus on 100 - 200 Women per targeted community, broken down further into small groups of 20 women or less per focus group. 

This accomplishes 2 strategic goals: 

1. Effectively understanding their specific needs and desires for a MHM/LBL solution, 

2. Opens legitimate opportunity for local language-speaking group facilitators to build relationships with group participants for a wholelistic approach where women feel save to share.

Here are the first snap shots of our team preparing and delivering sessions on MHM (Menstrual Health Management) and LBL (Light Bladder Leakage).

Alex Team implementing the first MHM/LBL educational workshop in a unreached, low-income community. The women begged for them to come back for more. Plans are underway for follow-up session. Our Focus Group facilitators, are individually following up with each participant with 3 surveys taken over a 1 week, 4 week and 3 month intervals. This individual follow-up is the bridge to long lasting and fruitful relationships within this community.

Not only limited to larger focus group settings, the Alex team, when appropriate makes individual home visits.
