We empower women around the world with resources to fight period poverty.
In the most vulnerable locations where period poverty and stigmas exist, we develop and distribute culturally appropriate educational materials and provide sustainable feminine hygiene resources, while training an expanding network of resident leaders with how to manage the communities' menstrual health needs.
Here's how:
- Kenyan women are provided menstrual health training and Dignity Kits from For Her Dignity. They no longer have to worry about missing out on their activities because of not being equipped for their monthly hygiene needs.
- For Her Dignity provides sustainable menstrual health resources and educational materials to vulnerable women in East Africa.
- The lives of thousands of women and girls have been positively impacted by the support of For Her Dignity’s work - providing culturally appropriate educational materials, training leaders and teachers, and providing menstrual health management resources to women and daughters who otherwise have no opportunities for such.
- For Her Dignity trains a network of teachers and leaders, to support the needs of resource-poor communities in caring for their own women and girls' health.
- For Her Dignity has developed menstrual health educational graphics, and informative pictoral booklets with minimal words in six translations, to distribute to women and girls in vulnerable and impoverished locations.
- These teaching materials include resources for the girls to make their own reusable menstrual hygiene products out of discarded t-shirts.
- Over 100,000 Dignity Kits have been distributed by For Her Dignity. Each Kit can provide for the menstrual health needs of one girl for three years, enabling her to pursue her daily activities without interruption because of her period.
- Malawi women have multiplied their For Her Dignity training, by starting a micro-business, selling their handmade underwear at the local market, after receiving Dignity Kits which they have since used as templates for replication.
